Ethical Trading

As a company, John Cotton has subscribed to the Ethical Trading Initiative, at its core is the need to respect workers worldwide, we understand the issues, common codes, and local laws, that need to be followed.

We ensure that employment is freely chosen, and that no work is carried out under threat of penalty and that freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining takes place.

We look after the health and safety of each and every staff member, be that at a permanent or temporary level, and we will ensure the company and its supply chain are free from utilising child labour in any part of its operations. We offer pay rates above the minimum living wages, with freely chosen overtime and the premiums that come with it. We ensure working conditions are of a good standard and working hours are not forced or excessive and we do not discriminate on hiring, pay, training, promotion, or retirement. We offer regular employment with numerous benefits and will not condone and form of harsh treatment or abuse. We have several vehicles available for individuals to anonymously report any aspect of their daily actives that they feel may breach this code, and any breach verbalised or reported is taken extremely seriously.

We are one of the 75,000 global business Sedex members, creating a more social and environmentally sustainable supply chain. We are Smeta audited on an annual basis as are our ever increasing international supply chain, We are also members of the stronger together network, which is working to tackling modern slavery in the supply chain, the objective is to reduce forced labour, labour trafficking and labour exploitation,
